Invicta Pro Diver Automatic INV8926 Men’s Watch

Invicta Pro Diver Automatic INV8926 Men’s Watch

At first glance it looked like a Rolex Submariner in one of the ads that come up on websites. I double checked to see if it was really that and discovered it to be an Invicta Dive watch. Looking like one of the high-branded watches, the Invicta managed to arouse my curiosity as to the antecedents and the history of the brand.

The Invicta brand was known to produce some of the best Swiss made watches in the industry back in the day. Raphael Picard, the founder of the brand had this idea in mind to make technically sound and impeccable quality Swiss watches available to everyone at affordable prices. Quality and craftsmanship were the highlight of the brand’s reputation. Back in 1837 when the brand was founded, the offerings ranged from finely crafted dress watches to chronographs to the elegant pocket watches that were such a rage during that era.

Invicta created a name for itself – the brand succeeded in achieving its goal of making exquisite Swiss watches affordable to the general public and thus became a household name until the 1970’s when the quartz watches took over the watch industry. Invicta survived the quartz crisis by creating quality timepieces modelled on expensive brands but selling at a tenth of the price of the original.

Even today, the Invicta brand manufactures some good quality timepieces offering technological innovations that may not be found in other brands in that particular price range. Let me give you an example, the Invicta Pro Diver Automatic INV 8926 Men’s watch – the one I had mistaken for a Rolex. The Invicta INV8926 may not cost a packet but it certainly packs a punch in terms of looks and features.

40 mm case diameter and an extremely well-made case contributes to its superb good looks. If you desire the Rolex submariner but don’t have the budget for it, the Invicta Pro Diver Automatic 8926OB is worth your money. The case and bezel have a smooth, polished finish giving the timepiece an expensive, classy look. It has an exhibition case back which many find to be an interesting feature – you can see the Caliber NH35A movement ticking away.

The black dial with luminescent hour markers poses a strong contrast and gives the watch a polished look. The Invicta logo sits proudly below the 12 o’clock marker. The magnified cyclops date window displays good clarity, is situated at the 3 o’clock position. The stainless-steel case and bracelet make up the whole set.

I’m a great fan of dive watches and had to have this one for myself – I was hardly likely to give up a chance to satisfy my desire at a quarter of the cost of the original. Much to my delight, it was available at a discount at City Watches CA https://www.citywatches.ca/.
