Although I’m not into special ops or anything remotely related to the special forces, I love the rugged functionality of tactical gear, especially when it comes to wrist watches. The Nixon Regulus is a supremely durable piece. The digital internals of this watch are protected by a shock- absorbent polyurethane jacket and impact resistant foam between the case back and the internal components keeping it safe from jarring shocks and impact.

I’d say my rendezvous with outdoor adventures is limited at best. But as a family we do go out camping ever so often. The Nixon Regulus would do nicely for any of these camping trips – it’s an outdoorsy type of watch that can surely take a beating. It could reliably withstand the shocks and scrapes encountered given the sturdy way it is built.

The Regulus is water resistant up to 100 meters, also it dries out quickly when wet because there’s no leather or fabric in the construction to soak up the water. Stainless steel case and rubber strap along with a hardened mineral crystal make it tough as nails. The rubber strap provides a snug fit on the wrist.

The Nixon Regulus watch displayed some unique but useful features.  Dual time zone with military time, auto calendar, dual chronographs, three independent alarms along with customisable time options make this a truly tactical watch. Another useful feature for those in tactical operations is the adjustable LED backlight and silent mode option.
